²² Solomon’s daily provisions^(A) were thirty cors^[a] of the finest flour and sixty cors^[b] of meal,

¹¹ and Solomon gave Hiram twenty thousand cors^[a] of wheat as food^(A) for his household, in addition to twenty thousand baths^[b][c] of pressed olive oil. Solomon continued to do this for Hiram year after year.

⁵ Jotham waged war against the king of the Ammonites^(A) and conquered them. That year the Ammonites paid him a hundred talents^[a] of silver, ten thousand cors^[b] of wheat and ten thousand cors^[c] of barley. The Ammonites brought him the same amount also in the second and third years.

⁷ “Then he asked the second, ‘And how much do you owe?’

“‘A thousand bushels^[a] of wheat,’ he replied.

“He told him, ‘Take your bill and make it eight hundred.’
